Over the seas and into the beautiful fields of Ireland. I have to admit, most of my travels are extremely random and by chance. It is a blessing to be able to pick up and see the world with so much flexibility. There is no doubt I have a true affinity for European countries, but Ireland was never quite at the top of my list. Paris. Paris was my dream. I lived the dream. And I haven’t stopped dreaming about the day I go back. But, I also want to go discover and experience new places before I go back.
So why Ireland? Truth be told, I was on a hunt for a good deal. I knew I wanted to go to Europe and when I wanted to travel, so I began to cast a search. Through some research and some persistence on travel booking sites, I found a deal I could work with. Basically I went on Incognito Mode and looked at a bunch of travel sites, the one I booked on was Travelocity. Incognito mode is key, because you know “cookies” and such, not the delicious kind either. These cookies track your searches and jack up the price on you. So if you are looking for a good deal, do your searches on Incognito mode.
The “when” you want to go is important too. If you narrow your when and where, you may be a bit limited. I was planning on traveling in February so it was a bit after the holidays and I knew I didn’t have much going on at work. Then I started looking into different places in that time frame. It happens to be off-season for many places, particularly Ireland! Most people probably avoid it thinking it’s going to be too rainy or windy. But from what I hear, it’s like that all the time. There was some mild drizzles here and there, but for the most part it was fine. I recommend doing some research on what to pack for your destination depending on the season you go. I definitely needed some jackets and extra layers, but nothing I wasn’t prepared for!
With a little persistence and open mind you will find the perfect trip for an adventure and your wallet!
