You know what I get asked a lot? “Do you prefer solo travel or traveling with others?” It’s an odd question because… I haven’t actually done a solo trip yet.

Safe to say I have travelled more and more over the last few years, so people have this perception that I am constantly vacationing. However, I usually do one major trip a year and a few smaller weekend trips in between. There have been quite a few trips I originally planned as solo trips, but when it comes down to it, someone usually joins me.

For example, I am planning to go to New York to see a show later in the fall. Yes, I know, I am that person who goes to another state for a show. I did this 2 years ago to see Hamilton and this time it is to see this French rap duo Bigflo & Oli, because they are never in the states and it’s the only place they are going. Let’s be real, I would be the one to travel to France to see them. But you know, I decided to be ‘realistic’. Anyway, what I was trying to explain is that I was going to go by myself. But then my cousins and some of their friends decided to join me. This happens all the time, either I pick a place and someone is interested or I find a super cheap ticket and convince someone to tag along. If day trips within a few hours of mi casa counts, then sure, I’ve done plenty of that. Dining alone, check! But without a full on out of state trip, I can’t call myself a solo-traveler just yet.

I booked my first solo trip earlier this year to Spain. But then I moved it because it was so close after my Ireland trip and I was kind of nervous. Now it’s planned for early next year, but I booked a trip via a travel group for a month beforehand to ease into. I booked with EF Ultimate Break, which I will be sure to review after my trip, because it was a decent price and I will be solo, but not solo. You feel me? I feel like it’s a good entry point before my real solo trip. Honestly… There’s no wrong way to travel! I enjoy being with people who want to explore just as much as I enjoy venturing out out on my own.

Have you been on a solo trip? Do you prefer it over traveling with others? Any of you ever travel with EF Ultimate Break? Let me know in the comments!!

Til next time,

Au Revoir
