It is no secret that I love Paris. Yes, I am that basic girl, who is obsessed with all Paris everything. I’ve only mentioned it at least 3 of the 4 posts I’ve had so far? Not crazy at all… I took French throughout middle and high school, retained almost nothing, but that’s besides the point. Had posters and post cards all around my room. Ate every croissant I ever laid eyes on. I am basically living in Paris in my mind. Side note: the dream is to live above, below or right next to a patisserie in Paris.
I find that people complain about Paris a lot. That it’s over-rated, smelly, people are rude, etc. But you know what, no one was going to rain on my dreams. My junior year of college I finally went for a class trip. It’s been about 7 or 8 years, and it feels like just that, a dream. I did almost everything I wanted to do and ate all the patisserie goods I could. Safe to say that trip really pumped up my love of travel and increased my love for Paris. As though that’s even possible!
If I could, I’d go back on the regular, but I also want to visit other places. So, I always start searching for Paris and then tell myself, nah I’ll go somewhere I haven’t been. There are also so many other parts of France that I want to see. Southern France looks gorgeous and I really want to take a tour of Normandy. So many croissants, crepes and baguettes to eat! Really there is plenty to do in any country to go back multiple times!
Well, I “unfortunately” double booked myself for my NYE trip. I booked a trip through EF Ultimate Break to Budapest, Vienna and Prague, which I was stoked about. However, my return date ended up being after a previous commitment. I still wanted to spend the holidays somewhere, because my last few years it’s been less than thrilling. Seemed like the perfect time. I tried to find another trip during this time, but with an earlier return date. And what a surprise there was one for London, Rome and…. Paris! I mean, what a burden. My NYE will be in Rome, which is fine, because New Year, New Country. But I’ll get to return to my beloved and do some more exploring…. Or I’ll sit at a cafe and eat croissants for 3 days. We’ll see where this adventure will take me.
Have you been to Paris (or London or Rome. Give a girl some suggestions)? Is there a city or country you just can’t get enough of? Let me know in the comments!
Til next time,
Au Revoir
