This may be one of my favorite bars in Orlando. The Wellborn is a vibe-y bar/kitchen as well as a boutique hotel. It is a stand-alone spot in the heart of Downtown Orlando. I first went to The Wellborn a couple years ago, post-pandemic, at the first wave of letting up restrictions. And I recently revisited, almost exactly two years after the first visit. And it was just as lovely as I remember.
The building itself is basically a house that has been decorated to be a funky fun – Instagram-worthy – spot. There are plenty of spots to lounge within the house, on the balcony of the house (which I opted for), as well as an outdoor area with a food/drink truck available. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the options. The bar also has some unique features, for example, I noticed an artist on deck if you wanted to get a drawing done. The outdoor area also has some games like a life-size Connect Four. So really you could come to chill or have a fun night.
If I want a few cocktails and chill with my friends, this is at the top of my list now. Both times I went I had a few cocktails and split some appetizers. Cocktail-wise I ordered the ‘Sailin On’ cause it had tequila, so duh! It was lovely and refreshing, I also believe I ordered the ‘Need Money? Call Now’ which was rum-based, but still yum. I may have gotten others, but I don’t remember which ones, yikes. Pretty much all the drinks I’ve gotten here have been refreshing and not overly sweet. Kept it basic for the apps and had the hummus plate and tried the Lager Sidewinders (aka curly fries). They were good shareable options. I believe they serve actual food too, but I have only really gone to have a casual drink, so I can’t give a real review there. If it’s like the rest of what I’ve had, I’d say it’s pretty good too.

The service was great too, especially when the crowd was manageable. I did have some slow service when it was super busy. A couple mishaps with wrong or lost drinks since the ordering can be done via a QR code and I’m sure it’s hectic when it’s busy. So it really can be a hit or miss.
I do really enjoy this spot! I chose to go late afternoon/early evening, which I thought was the perfect time because it was not too busy. The first time I went we stayed late and the place ended up getting packed. Then this past time I went it was clear we had just missed the brunch rush. And if you are in Downtown Orlando and want a chill vibe and drink, highly recommend checking this place out.
