With Halloween just around the corner, I got just the spot for you to grab a drink or several! I don’t go out to the bars too often, but when I do I definitely enjoy a unique vibe and will give a good go at the menu. I often say Orlando is an ‘up + coming’ city, because it doesn’t have that special something like when I think of my hometown of Philly or NYC. But there’s definitely plenty to do here and quite a few great bars to check out if you are in town.

A few years ago, pre-pandemic I recall being downtown in October and my friend and I knew about this ‘Halloween-themed’ bar, but when we got to the spot the place was packed. Everyone was there since, ya know, tis the season. A couple weeks ago, the same friend and I went downtown and remembered this bar. We weren’t sure if it was seasonal, but we went ahead and gave it a try anyways. To our delight Cocktail & Screams was open!

It is a total vibe! If you are into spooky season, scary movies, Halloween Horror Nights, or just a cool themed bar – this is a must try. There were lots of themed sections paying homage to The Addams Family and The Shining amongst many others. I think when we went it was the best time, because it was right before the Halloween lovers were fully out, so it was not busy like that first attempt we had. We were able to get a few drinks and lounge. Also when we were there, they were playing some scary movies, neither of which I was interested in, but still a nice touch.

The drinks were decent. I had two drinks, one was a apple vodka based drink which was a bit too sweet for my liking, but I was skimming through the menu for what I thought was most refreshing. It had a crispness to it, but I couldn’t get passed the sweetness. I also had some kind of a chocolate old fashioned/martini type drink, which, if it was the only drink I had, I may have enjoyed it more. It did come topped with a Ferrera Rocher, which I was very pleased about.

I’m not a horror fan or obsessed with Halloween, like I know most people are. Don’t get me wrong, I love a few PSL’s and fall, so I suppose you can say I enjoy the basic side of things rather than the spooky. Overall, if you don’t see a line out the door, go inside and I think you’ll find yourself entranced by all the decor. You can grab a drink and lounge in one of their themed areas or take a bunch of a selfies. Cocktails & Screams is fun vibe and worth checking out.
