Dim Dim Sum | Orlando Foodie Finds

I saw it on an Orlando Weekly post and found myself there the following weekend. I love me some dumplings and actually don’t think I’ve ever gone to a dim sum spot. I was excited to give it a try! I want to see if we have any others here in Orlando. I will say it was nice to see that Dim Dim Sum is in Windermere. I find most of the really good asian restaurants are in the Mills 50 area or downtown, and Windermere is just a little closer in proximity. So that was a plus right there!

Things worked out really well cause I got my nails done right in the same shopping center and then popped over to the restaurant. The restaurant is quite new so I think they are still getting their operation down. They provided the menu where you can see and pick your options. There was a mix of the restaurant coming around with options in the cart and sometimes asking them for a particular dish.

The thing about dim sum is… I feel like I’m going to get all the things and by the time I finished my second small plate, I was just about full. I managed to get a few things, but I strongly recommend going with a few friends and splitting. That way you actually have room to try a little bit of everything! That’s probably how you are supposed to do it anyways. Struggles of a loner, you know?

As soon as I got seated, the cart came around and I ordered some roast pork. Which honestly was my least favorite of the day. It was cold when I got it, clearly pre-made. Which isn’t a bad thing, just not what I was expecting, as it was the most expensive thing I ordered. I then went on to some dumplings, first some steamed shrimp dumplings and then some pan fried dumplings. They were good, but nothing special. I ended things off with a sweet steamed bun + fried sesame balls. The sweets ended up being my favorite part!

I felt like since they are still new and it was pretty busy they were a bit slow on the service. There were other things I would have tried, but it was a mixture of not getting the service and being too full. I think I’d go back to try out some of the things I wanted, but didn’t get a chance to. The prices were decent, but I’ve never been to a dim sum spot, so I can’t really compare. I am happy to have an option nearby!
