I remember the whole Bon Appetit debacle + mentioning it in a post a while back. I’ve also been so happy to see some of my favorites who left do incredible things since! It was so great to see that all of the immense talents were able to continue to shine. I watch all of Sohla’s many, many shows and still can’t get enough! And I was super excited to get my hands on Molly Baz’s cookbook!
I had seen some videos of hers before with biscuits and they always looked so flakey and delicious. I was excited about this Cheddar + Date Biscuit recipe in particular, because I had a bunch of dates that I just had chilling for some time and wanted to put them to good use. Also I’m a huge fan of sweet + salty flavor combos, so it just was a match made in heaven.
You’ll have to go grab her book to get the full recipe! What I can tell you is, it was super simple to follow and I replaced some ingredients because I didn’t have the exact ones, and well, it was still so good. The cheddar I opted for is my go-to, which is the Trader Joe’s cheddar and gruyere mixture, I love it and it was perfect for this recipe. I also usually never have sour cream on hand, but I Googled if greek yogurt could suffice, and it did! They were lovely straight from the oven and each morning I had a piece after the fact.
I strongly recommend giving these a try if you love carbs like I do! And also suggest getting her recipe book (again)! I am not sponsored, just a big fan! I’ve also tried her Cae Sal salad recipe, which includes a homemade caesar dressing. I was nervous about the dressing, but such a simple and staple recipe! I can’t wait to try out some more!!
Let me know if you give it a go. If you have her cookbook, what’s your favorite recipe?
Au Revoir Wanderlovers!
