There may be a few of these, fair warning. The latest season of Stranger Things dropped last month. The first half May 27th and the second half July 1st. I just finished re-watching Season 1-3 and wrapped up Season 4 the other day.
I know, I know – Season 4 is most relevant. Since I just watched it all over, this post is gonna be more of an overview of my feelings about the show as a whole. Let’s start by saying I love all genres of TV. I stay away from horror, but supernatural/sci-fi I can hang with. I love that this show is a little bit of all of that mixed in with some wholesomeness.
The first 3 seasons was such a quick rewatch and for someone with a goldfish memory like me, I needed it before the newest season. Even with movie-length episodes in Season 4, the pace was just right, never felt too slow. One thing I apprecdiate about the show is that we do get answers along the way. I still have SO many questions though and wonder how many will actually be answered in the final season.
Re-watching from the beginning reminded me of how little the kids were when the show first started, they were SO cute and soooo good! Most importantly, who is my favorite? Dustin. He’s the stinkin cutest. I love him in Season 1, the evolution of his bromance with Steve in Season 2 & 3, to the bromance triangle with him, Steve & Eddie. Just too good. And he had my favorite line/scene of the series so far when he gets annoyed with Mike & Nancy’s dad. It was what we were all thinking. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
What a legend.
I’ll leave you with some of my overall show questions/thoughts.
- Why Will?! How did he survive? Hoping he gets the arc he deserves in S5.
- Papa – WTF?! Literally what is his origin story? I was hoping for more in the Papa episode.
- Where’s Eleven’s mom and sister from the previous seasons?
- What happened to the Byer’s dog – he saw everything!
- [Spoiler] El can bring people back to life?!! Will there be side-effects?
(I’m sure there will be). - Erika may be my second favorite, she has the best lines!
