This cute stand-alone coffee house in Winter Garden is a charming spot. I love that it is hidden in plain sight. The first time I saw it, I had randomly googled coffee shops and noticed I hadn’t heard of Prairie House before, then a friend mentioned it to me and I figured, I should go give it a try.

There is a small parking lot and if needed, I’ve seen some folks park on the grass across the street. And there are a few spots inside and outside to sit. My favorite part is a portion of this coffee shop is also a shop with little trinkets to browse through. I enjoy looking through what they have while I wait for my order.

At this point, I’ve gone a few times. From their website, I learned their goods are made gluten-free & without hydrogenated oils, processed sugar, soy, or preservatives. I love this conscious effort into making clean goods.

As I’ve mentioned, I love to try specialty items or a basic cold brew when I try a new place. So I usually go for their seasonal lattes, the last one I tried was the Rose Cardamom Latte – Iced, which I asked for without the rose. I’m not a huge fan of flowery flavors, but I love cardamom. Overall, I haven’t been blown away by their lattes, the flavors being rather faint. I prefer their matcha over the lattes. There are lots of other great matcha options in Orlando, although probably one of the better options on this side of time.

I’ve tried a couple of the baked goods as well. The most recent item I got was a chocolate chip cookie. It was sweet, a bit too sweet for me. And the texture just wasn’t my favorite, more soft and crumbly. I prefer a crunchy or gooey chocolate chip cookie. I’ve previously ordered the Hello Dolly, which on the other hand I really enjoyed. It was also very sweet, but the elements of walnuts, coconut, and more, balanced out the sweetness. I’ve also tried a few of their savory options, which I’ve enjoyed more than the sweet treats. I think the clean ingredients really shine through.

Honestly, I really enjoy the vibe and location of this place more than the goods. It is a relaxing place to grab a quick little something. I do think there are better coffee and food options up the road on Plant Street.
