It’s hard to go wrong with Pizza in NY. There are so many options and so many great options at that. It’s also a staple. I have to get at least a slice somewhere every time I go to NY. It’s only right. Joe’s has been a staple spot. Usually, I branch out and try different spots each time I visit, but with pizza. It just worked out that the majority of times I’ve gone to NY I end up at Joe’s. It’s simple, reliable, and fantastic. A couple visits ago I finally ventured to a different spot.

I was excited to try out a new spot. There’s always a battle in NY for the best slice or the best bagel. Honestly, just about any cuisine, which is what I love so much about NY. The options are endless! Just like Joe’s, there was a bit of a line at Prince Street, but they are both well-oiled machines, it goes by quick. I went with my cousins and we went with the essential slice of cheese. When we were in line my cousin saw went for a slice of the square pepperoni as well.

The plain cheese slice was nothing note-worthy. I would much rather get the plain option at Joe’s. The pepperoni on the hand was absolutely fantastic. We were so glad we went for it last minute. Honestly, I’m surprised I hadn’t done my research as this is the slice that really puts Prince Street on the map, and I totally understand why. It’s Sicilian style, which is the opposite of what you think when you think thin crust NY pizza. Just another reason this slice stands out on its own.

One slice of that ‘Spicy Spring’ is a complete meal. Being a doughier crust, basically focaccia, completely covered in pepperoni, it’s really a sandwich. I love the type of pepperoni they use, the kind that curls up, but they don’t overcook it either, I’m not a fan when they are too burnt. And the dough has a great crunch. I’ve craved this pizza since I got it. But now that I know it’s okay to branch out on pizza, I need to try another new pizza joint.

If you want a plain slice, go to Joe’s or do your research. If you want a fantastic slice of Sicilian-styled pepperoni, make sure to drop by Prince Street.
