This is such a cozy spot. I love a spot that can be a staple and just has solid no-fuss options. I feel like the Deli Downtown in Winder Garden is that place. There are plenty of spots, many of which I’ve already talked about here on Plant Street. I’ve only been here a few times and each time I’m always happy and satisfied.
It’s connected to Piccolo Coffee Co., which I’ll review soon as well, and just a great spot tucked away off the main street. I know I’ve gotten the Veggie Hummus and Toasted Italian sandwich. Both were great. I thought the Veggie Hummus was such a wonderful vegetarian option, and for real for non-vegetarians too. It was filling and so fresh and yummy. I would get it again for sure. It kind of reminded me of the Panera Mediterranean sandwich, which I’m also a fan of. I don’t know why, but it’s definitely the type of sandwich I could make at home, but I just enjoy it extra when it’s made for me.
The Toasted Italian was good too. Pretty basic. But sometimes basic is exactly what you’re looking for. It’s on a Ciabatta, which, isn’t always my favorite only because it can be a bit hard and sometimes overpower everything else. I would love my Italian to be on hoagie bread, straight from the northeast. If I am craving it, which I was when I got it this day, I would get it again. However, there are some other sandwiches on the menu I want to try before returning to this one.
If you are looking for a cute, cozy, local spot with some solid sandwiches, I think this is a great spot. I hope you give it a try and tell me which sandwich to try next!
