I’ve just about covered everything on Plant Street. That’s a lie, I know I have more I haven’t done yet. We are getting to the tail end of coffee shops in the area. Piccolo is the neighbor of our previous review, The Deli Downtown. It’s a tiny spot that serves you everything you could need. So convenient to grab a coffee and a sandwich in one go.

I’ve been to Piccolo a few times over the years. I’ve had hits and misses. There have been a few times I’ve gotten some form of iced coffee and I felt that it was too sour. One of the last times I went I got a specialty latte, I believe it was chocolate-covered strawberry. Which this has happened before, when you go for something that sounds that desert-y, it’s hard to expect it to be anything but a dessert. The barista even said she could make it as unsweet as possible and it was still a dessert in a cup, I honestly can’t imagine what it would have tasted like full sweetness.

The very last time I went I got a peachy cold brew lemonade, I didn’t really taste the peachy. This summer I’ve been enjoying the coffee lemonades, and sodas. It was refreshing, as refreshing as a caffeinated beverage can be, on a hot Florida day.

This is a spot I’d definitely revisit and have revisited plenty of times over the years. The baristas are always so sweet. Both Piccolo and The Deli Downtown just have such good local neighborhood vibes. I love trying a seasonal fancy drink, but I think I’d opt for the more basic just as delicious options.
