This is the first ‘chain’ review on the page. Very likely you have a Morton’s around you, I believe it’s nationwide and maybe a few locations outside the U.S. too. It’s one of those places I’d heard of, usually good things, but I didn’t go to cause it was too pricey. In Orlando, we have Magical Dining, at the end of August this year (maybe every year). So with a prix-fixed menu… and price, it was the perfect time to give this bougie chain a shot.

I will say, that even with the prefixed menu prices, it was still expensive. Some Magical Dining experiences are $40 and some are $60, this one was $60. We also got drinks, cause when you go out, why not go all out? So the bill really did add up. I also got a very standard Ranch Water – nothing special. No better or worse than any other basic tequila drink. I could have gotten a specialty drink, but nothing called to me, and if I am going to dish out that kind of money, I want to know I’ll like it.

The meal started off with some bread and butter and I recall it being okay, wasn’t memorable. But we love a little something while we think over our order! I don’t remember all the options, but I do remember what I ordered. I started off with the Lobster Bisque for an app, my one friend got the same and my other friend got a pork belly-type situation. It was all wonderful. The soup was yummy and cozy, with a lil chunk of lobster. I tried my friend’s pork belly app and that was sooo good, fatty, and flavorful! If I opted for a different main, I would have gotten that as my app too.

All three of us opted for the filet mignon. And it did not disappoint! It was as steak should be, simple, juicy, and delicious. Both my friends got the sour cream mashed potatoes as their sides and they seemed to enjoy it! I opted for the garlic green beans, which were also very good, a tad salty, but I’d prefer that over it being bland.

And finally the dessert, we all opted for different desserts which was nice so we could all taste each others! I got the creme brulee, which was yummy and creamy. I wouldn’t say it was anything special but it was very good nonetheless. I’d say the same for the Morton’s Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake my friend did the upgrade for. It was very good, but a pretty standard lava cake with vanilla ice cream, which is always a great combo. And my other friend got the Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse, I’d say that was the hit of all the desserts. It’s something that I don’t think you can find at most restaurants and it was so light and decadent at the same time. I would definitely opt for that out of all the desserts we tried.

I have to say, even though it’s pricey. Between the ambiance and the quality of the food, I’d say it was worth it. I loved having the prefixed menu so I could try a few things. I honestly wish I went to a few more spots during Magical Dining, but it ends before I remember it’s happening! Overall, I’d say if you want solid fancy dinner to celebrate or just to enjoy, I’d definitely recommend Morton’s!
