Jock Lindsey’s HOLIDAY Bar | Orlando Bar Crawl

Tis the season! Most of the year it’s Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, but for a few months, we get the Holiday Bar at Disney Springs. I’ve been to regular Hangar Bar but hadn’t tried out the overlay. My Orlando Foodie friends and I had bookmarked it from the TikTok’s and finally made it happen!

Even during the non-holiday season, this bar is pretty popular. However, I had stopped by Disney Springs a couple weeks prior to this visit on a weekday and there was absolutely no seating for the Holiday overlay, so I was actually a bit nervous we wouldn’t be able to get in. We first had dinner at Frontera Cocina (review coming soon), then made our way over to the main event. There was a super short line to get in and we got seated within five minutes. It was definitely packed inside and on the dock, but they kept it moving.

They had a holiday menu, which is obviously what we went for. We opted for both of the holiday flights: the Post-flight “Milk” and Cookies with Coquito & the Hot Chocolate Grail Flight. We saved room for dessert but let’s just say that I’m glad I went with a group. Even with the group we barely made a dent.

Funny enough my friends had just enlighted me on what a Coquito was at dinner prior to this so it was fun to get to try it out. And as per my friends who have had a coquito or two before said that it was good but on the strong side. Without anything to compare it to, I’d have to agree. Whenever it’s a milky or more of a desserty adult beverage, I don’t enjoy it when the liquor has a sharp taste, and with this, it was very liquor-forward. This flight came with cookies, which was a nice lil treat. Our favorite was the Gingerbread Reindeer Cookie filled with Dulce de Leche. I’d say the Bourbon-Eggnog Snowflake Cookie was my second favorite and I didn’t hate it, but the Chocolate-Peppermint Christmas Tree Cookie would take the number three spot in this round.

The Hot Chocolate flight was the one I saw on my socials and looked so cute. I loved the thick whipped cream on top, but didn’t have a spoon to scoop it up. If there’s one thing to know about me is that I love whipped cream. Should I be having all that dairy? Let’s not ask such questions. This flight comes with three hot chocolates which I’d rank in this order: Spiced Caramel with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Peppermint with Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and Bols Crème de Menthe White Liqueur, Cookies ‘n Cream with White Chocolate and Stoli Vanil Vodka. The Spiced Caramel tasted like a classic hot chocolate and I will say, unlike the Coquito, all of these were smooth. I would definitely have that specific one again or learn how to make it myself.

Peppermint comes next for me. My friends and I also established we’re not huge mint chocolate fans, but oddly enough my one exception with that is during the holidays. I oddly really like peppermint bark, but only at this time of year. I found that the peppermint in this was very subtle and not overpowering. Gave it a little something different from the Spiced Caramel which was more classic. Now the last one is where I had the unpopular opinion. All of my friends loved the Cookies ‘n Cream one. To me, it just tasted like thick sugary milk. I’d say it tasted the most decadent of the bunch for that reason too. It just wasn’t for me.

The flights were $27 and $26 respectively, which given it was split amongst a few of us, was not too bad. I’d definitely say to come with a group to make it worth it. We all wanted to do something festive this season and this was a super fun option. Come with an empty stomach and expect to be in a full-sugar coma. Everything in the flights was sweetness overload but ya know, tis the season. I would do the hot chocolate flight again and claim the Spiced Caramel one for myself and let the others enjoy the other two.
