I’ve been to Frontera a bunch of times through the years since I’ve been in Orlando. It’s a true staple of Disney Springs and one of my favorite options there. My biggest, and possibly only flaw, would be the price point. Pretty much everything at Disney is a premium price, and this is no exception.

This past visit I opted for a soup and a bunch of sides as my meal. I started off with the tortilla soup, which came with a small show. The show being that they poured the broth for the soup in front of you, I wasn’t expecting it and it was a fun little touch. I will say, the soup tasted very good, but even with the show – it came out lukewarm. And I don’t think this was one of those soups that were meant to be served cold, so that was a bit odd.

The rest of my meal was sides, including the Esquites, Papas Rancheras, and Fried Plantains. I’ve had the fried plantains here before, they are a go-to order for me. Love the sweetness of the plantain with a bit of the crema and cotija cheese, so delicious. Esquites are another go-to order for me at Mexican restaurants, one of my favorite dishes. I did like them here, but I felt that the mixture was a bit too runny. It’s usually not like that, but it had the elements. I will say my friend who I wasn’t sure would like it, did rather enjoy it! And finally, the papas rancheras, were just okay. You can’t really go wrong with potatoes, they were not bad, I just felt like it wasn’t super flavorful.

We of course got some cocktails as well for our meals, and I opted for the Agave Maria. I will say I thoroughly enjoyed it, a tequila + mezcal drink. It was basically a top-notch ranch water and I’m not mad about it. However, the price attached to it… I can be mad at. It was $17, which was on the cheaper side.

Overall, I do like Frontera. I think the food is good, some things are better than others. I honestly forget what I’ve ordered in the past, but I know my experience was similar otherwise I wouldn’t come back. Especially considering the prices. It really is a once-a-year or once-every-couple-of-years spot for me because of the price point. But in terms of Disney and options at Disney Springs, I do recommend this one.
