Prato is a staple restaurant in proper Winter Park, Orlando. I’d heard about it ever since I moved to town. It took me a while to finally make my way over though. The first time I went was probably a couple years ago. I went solo for brunch and met some… Interesting folks. That’s a story for another time. I recently went back for dinner with my Orlando foodie crew though, and it was a good time!
I wasn’t sure I was going to get a drink, but my friend ordered a ‘White Linen’, a cocktail that was off the menu, but it was very good. I usually am not a fan of cucumbers in my drinks, but honestly, it was just refreshing and delightful. We started with a couple appetizers including the apricot crostini and arancini, and of course all the focaccia bread. The crostini was good, but the bread needed to be a bit more crusty throughout to really hold all the toppings together. I was a big fan of the arancini, would definitely get that again.
We decided to split a pizza, I honestly do not recall which one we got, aside from it being a white pizza. I’m usually not a white pizza fan, even though my stomach can’t really handle tomatoes these days. However, this was a very good pizza, and I’d have it again. We were all getting full, but also ordered half orders of our own pastas. I had tried the cacio e pepe the previous time I went and enjoyed it, but the black pepper campanelle was what struck my fancy for this meal. It was a very mid pasta, my friend did order the cacio e pepe and I definitely snuck more of that for myself. My other friend ordered the sweet potato ravioli, which was good, but seemed a bit underwhelming as well. Overall, I would probably opt for the cacio e pepe, but really I didn’t even need it after all the prior items.
Even still, I couldn’t resist dessert. We were stuffed and my friends were ready to call it, and I still went and ordered a tiramisu. I was intrigued by the olive oil cake too, but tiramisu seemed like a safer bet. It was a good decision. We split one and demolished it. It was light, creamy, and worth it.

Totally understand why Prato is a staple here in Orlando. One of the better Italian spots in town. It was definitely busy and loud the evening we went. I remember the day I went for brunch, there was a line forming even before they opened. So make sure to make yourself a reservation and check it out!
