Oh hi there, it’s been a while. Let’s get right back to it. An iconic, swanky bar in London. I kept seeing this one come up as a recommendation and I was kind of in the area after my afternoon tea, so I figured I’d stop in for a nightcap.
The bar is located in a hotel, and I believe there is also a restaurant as well. I obviously went just for the bar, which is rather small, but they have a very efficient system of moving people in and out. Stepping into the bar gives me Great Gatsby vibes, very aesthetically pleasing. At first entry, I was directed straight to the bar, which is a standing bar. But it wasn’t a problem, because the bartenders are basically putting on a show so it’s super entertaining.
My goodness, the service is top-notch. I did go to some of the bougier options in London, and the service was truly the highlight of it. I believe I got a towel to start off. There was a complimentary drink of some sort plus snacks. Which honestly was absolutely necessary as the drinks are $$$$. On average, they were 25 euros or more.
It was of course lovely to watch the drink being made and it was served with a cool-looking stirring spoon. I don’t recall the specific drink I got, it was fine. For whatever reason I made the stupid decision of buying a drink with Campari, which I am not a fan of. I believe there were limited tequila options, especially without extra flavors I was uninterested in. Lots of old-fashioned type drinks, which are not usually my go-to, but I probably should have opted for one of those.

My drink wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my flavor profile of choice. I will say it was strong, which is what you want for that steep price. As soon as a seat was available, my host offered it up to me and I got to lax with my drink for a bit. Cannot talk more highly about the attentiveness and quality of the service.
If I were a local, this would definitely not be my regular routine… I would go broke. It’s definitely a special occasion, a once-in-a-while option, or for someone like me who is an out-of-towner having an experience. I’d recommend going here at least once.
