Orlando is really the hot spot. We are getting all the chains migrating down here. Honestly, I love to see it. As a caffeinated foodie, I want all the options, and my list is never-ending these days. Not too long ago we got Dutch Bros. At this point I’ve gone twice, let’s get into the review.
I really hadn’t heard of Dutch Bros before I found out they were opening here. Then the Instagram reels started hitting and I gave it a go. The first time, the line was super long cause it was very close to the opening date, but it went by smoothly. They had a bunch of people coming out to the cars in the drive-through and kept it moving. I ended up ordering two drinks. I truly have no idea why, because in no world do I need that amount of sugar, dairy, or caffeine. Anyways, I ended up ordering some kind of special edition Boba Vanilla Latte and one of their usual drinks, I want to say the Caramelizer. Both were just too sweet and dairy-forward for me. It was a bummer, I barely drank either cause it just didn’t seem like a good decision for my body.
Not too long ago, I knew I would be passing by it again, so I figured I’d give it another shot. This time I was prepared to ask for whatever I ordered to not be too sweet. There is a signature drink called the Golden Eagle, and I asked for it to be made half-sweet. I definitely recommend reading full descriptions, this may just be a me a problem. Because I just went and looked at the menu and saw that it is a ‘Breve’, which is essentially just cream. This girl loves cream, I don’t know who likes whipped cream more than me, but I also know my body is not equipped to handle much of it. So, this drink wasn’t super sweet, but it straight looked like a cup of cream with a splash of coffee. And I’m more of a cup of coffee with a splash of cream kind of girl.
I saw a video where someone mentioned Dutch Bros was actually less sweet than Dunkin. At this point, if I go to Dunkin I only ask for 1 pump of whatever sweetener, so this may actually be true. All to say, if you are someone who likes a creamy, sweet coffee, this may be your spot. I ended up saving that Golden Eagle as my weekly creamer for my homemade coffee the rest of the week, so it wasn’t a complete waste. The price is pretty on par with any coffee shop these days. I didn’t find any of the flavors super exciting and since I’ve given it a couple tries, I think I’m good. It’s not terrible, just not what I’m looking for.
Have you been to Dutch Bros? Is there a drink that’s worth going back for? Let me know in the comments!
