A newer addition to Disney Springs that I have fully embraced as one of my favorites. At this point, Summer House has been open for some time now and I’ve gone a couple times, both experiences were fantastic. And I have to caveat that this is a spot where you need to be aware is both Disney and California-inspired prices. Not a cheap spot by any means, but simply delicious.

The first time I went was impromptu after a showing of Dune with a friend. We went to just grab drinks and keep chatting about the movie. That quickly turned into drinks, dinner, and dessert, as it so often does with me. We actually started at the cute cookie bar first and tried one of the chocolate chip cookies and the gingersnap, I believe. These cookies are hefty, I took a bite of both to try and ultimately had my friend take the rest. They were good and tasty, but I’m more of a crunchy cookie fan, I feel like I’m in the minority on that one. Most folks I know prefer soft or gooey. These cookies definitely leaned soft-baked. The gingersnap had a great flavor to it, but the texture just wasn’t my cup of tea. I do have to say I like it much more than the Crumbl cookie crave, but I don’t know if it beats out Gideon’s. The line was definitely much shorter here.

On both visits, I sat at one of the bars, which is a great option if it’s a small party. I simply wanted a margarita and an excellent margarita it was. Freshly made and not too sweet, it was great. Sixteen dollars is a setback, but I didn’t regret my choices. During the first visit, we started with apps, shishito peppers, and salmon poke nachos. The shishito peppers were simple and had a nice char to them. The salmon poke nachos were almost excellent, I wish the spicy aioli was on the side, it was a bit too salty and overpowered all the other flavors. If it was less salty or on the side, it would have been an excellent dish. We were enjoying our drinks, apps, and vibes and we ended up ordering a pizza before the kitchen closed. If I recall we split this one with Margherita and Hobbs pepperoni, and we tore it up.

The second time I went, I think I opted for the marg again. Our bartender/waitress, who I actually had the first time too recommended the ahi tuna & watermelon tostadas, which were fantastic. Sweet, savory, crunchy, light and refreshing. They were small bites, but so flavorful. For this pizza, I think we did half Hobbs pepperoni and half shaved mushroom. Of the three I’ve tried, the shaved mushroom is my favorite and quickly becoming my favorite kind of pizza. We of course got cookies to go and we were sold on the Krispy chocolate chip, which is the standard chocolate chip cookie with their rice crispy treat mixed in. I was leaning towards trying their rice crispy treats, but then this was an option, it was a solid best-of-both-worlds type of situation. If I opt for dessert here next time, I’ll probably just get the rice crispy treat.

Overall, this place gives you that California vibe, it is basically a clean girl aesthetic in a restaurant format. It would be amazing if they had happy hour deals because I definitely don’t think I can justify going frequently. I definitely enjoyed the options I’ve tried so far and have had great experiences. If you are looking for somewhere to have a cute date or girl’s night, or need a Disney Springs option, this is a solid pick.
