For the Plot is one of the new independent bookshops that recently opened, and, on top of that, it’s a bookshop-and-coffee shop. I love that we are all trying to have more cozy spaces! I ended up stopping by during their opening weekend. Here’s my take…
Parking: I’ve only been up to this area in Alafaya once or twice before. It’s quite a hike from where I’m located. I went on a Saturday morning of the opening weekend, and found parking to be rather easy. I caught a spot right on the street, just a few doors down from the cafe. There is plenty of street parking, and I believe there is a lot as well.
Atmosphere: Such a nice, inviting space. And a pretty decent amount of space inside, too. Plenty of room to check out the curated selection of books. On the other side, you can get in line to order a cup of joe. There’s a bit of book-inspired merchandise to peruse.
It was rather packed when I went, which wasn’t surprising, and also nice to see so many folks come and support. I didn’t have to wait long to put in my coffee order, but there was a bit of a wait to get my order. And that was expected, considering the crowd and just starting out. There was a small seating area, which, on a normal day, I think you’d be able to find a spot. Since it was busy, there were quite a few of us standing around for our drinks.
The Coffee: There was a cute, literary-themed menu. The branding was great, I loved the names. I ended up ordering the recommended, already popular, Dark Academia. A Biscoff latte. Ya’ll should know by now, and so should I. I’m not gonna love a latte. It wasn’t bad. No fault of anyone but me. Honestly, someone knock me on the head the next time I order a latte. I was intrigued by the flight, but went against ordering 4 lattes. They looked super fun though. If I went with someone, I would have tried it.
While I don’t think this is a specialty coffee shop. If you like a standard, sweet latte, this will hit the spot. I just really love these types of business opening up more. Spaces with books or art, and some coffee and snacks. This is yet another one of those places that, if it were closer, I would be there regularly. Would totally go back to grab a non-latte drink, grab a book, and read for a bit.
